Counselling Helps Latha

Latha (Name changed to protect identity) is an eighth standard student. She is staying in her grandmother’s house in Madurai with her brother as there is no school in the village. Her parents are daily wage earners. Sometimes when she goes home late due to inadequacy of buses or combined study with friends, her uncle reprimands her and has doubts on her character. Latha was  very upset and unable to concentrate in her studies. EKTA extended supportive counseling to face the situation. Her plight was discussed with the teachers and they have promised to talk to the grandmother and also the uncle.
